The situation
Field techs are busy and human, and clocking in and out is the easiest thing in the world to forget. Missed punches meant the office spent time every pay period chasing people down and fixing timesheets.
What I built
A simple, reliable automation. A text goes out to the crew each morning to clock in, and another at the end of the day to clock out. It’s scheduled and automatic, with no app for the techs to remember or open. It isn’t flashy, and it isn’t meant to be. It’s the kind of small, boring automation that quietly removes a recurring headache.
The result
Fewer missed punches and a lot less payroll cleanup at the end of the period. A five-minute annoyance, repeated daily across a whole crew, turned into a non-issue.
