The situation
The contractor’s techs handled preventive maintenance across a lot of rooftop units and equipment, all on paper. Paper checklists get lost, and there was no clean way to tell one unit from the next or to see what had been done last time. The maintenance was happening fine. The record of it was the mess.
What I built
A mobile app where every piece of equipment gets its own unique code, generated automatically and printed as a QR label. A tech scans the label and pulls up that exact unit’s checklist on their phone, with no serial numbers to type and no guessing which unit is which. I kept it deliberately simple: one code per unit, created on its own with zero manual steps, and a clean label sheet to print and stick.
The result
Preventive maintenance went paperless. Every unit is identifiable with a single scan, and its checklist lives in one place instead of on a clipboard in someone’s truck. The crew spends less time on paperwork and more on the actual work.
Still running a field process on paper? Let’s fix that.
